Bollywood actress Kajol, who was last seen in a Tamil film alongside Dhanush, is currently shooting for a film, that is tentatively titled ‘Eela’. Today, the makers revealed that the film is slated to release on September 14. Kajol’s last Bollywood film is Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, where she was seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film also featured Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in pivotal roles.
Helmed by Pradeep Sarkar and written by Mitesh Shah, Eela will see Kajol playing a single mother and an aspiring singer. The film also stars the National Award winning actor, Riddhi Sen, who will be playing Kajol’s son, read a statement. Bankrolled by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada of Pen India Ltd, the film is an adaptation of Anand Gandhi’s Gujarati play-Beta Kaagdo.
Kajol’s last film Velaiilla Pattadhari (VIP 2) is a Tamil-language comedy-drama film, helmed by Soundarya Rajnikanth. The actress played an antagonist in the film. Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 was a sequel to the 2014 blockbuster ‘Velaiilla Pattadhari’. ‘VIP 2’ also features Dhanush, Amala Paul, Vivek, Hrishikesh, Saranya Ponvannan and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles.
