Nagpur: In a smart act, Pachpaoli police have arrested a juvenile vehicle lifter in the wee hours of Wednesday and recovered eight stolen two-wheelers from his possession.
Acting on several complaints of two-wheeler thefts since the past 10-12 days, cops laid a trap at “hot” spots in Vaishali Nagar, Ambedkar Garden from 5 am on Wednesday in order to nab the vehicle lifter red-handed. During the trap, the waiting cops spotted a juvenile boy wandering in the area on a two-wheeler suspiciously. The suspect was immediately detained and subjected to intense questioning. During interrogation, the detained suspect revealed his name as Shashank Narendra Ramteke (17), resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar coming under Yashodhara Police Station jurisdiction. The juvenile accused confessed stealing eight two-wheelers from different areas. All the eight stolen vehicles worth Rs 1.56 lakh were recovered from his possession. Hobby of riding different two-wheelers prompted him to indulge in theft, revealed the detained juvenile.
