Judge Advocate General’s Department celebrated its 5th Reunion at Institute of Military Law

Nagpur: Judge Advocate General’s Department celebrated its 5th Reunion at Institute of Military Law, Kamptee on 03-04 Nov 2017. The occasion was graced by Lt Gen Ashwani Kumar, AVSM, VSM, Adjutant General and Colonel Commandant, Judge Advocate General’s Department, Maj Gen VC Chitravanshi, VSM, Judge Advocate General, Maj Gen Rakesh , ADG Litigation, senior officers of the Judge Advocate General’s Department and 35 veteran officers of the rank of Major General, Brigadiers and Colonels.

The ceremonies lasted over two days. On the first day, a havan was organized followed by Judge Advocate General’s Enlarged conference presided over Maj Gen VC Chitravanshi, VSM. A Barakhana was attended by all officers, veterans, all ranks of IML and their families. The children and student officers of JAC- 27 presented a cultural programme.


On 04 Nov 2017 Reunion conference held at IML Auditorium was chaired by Lt Gen Ashwani Kumar, AVSM, VSM, Adjutant General and Colonel Commandant, Judge Advocate General’s Department. Maj Gen A B Gorthi, AVSM, VSM, Ex JAG (Retd) the senior most veteran and other senior officers of the Judge Advocate General’s Department and veterans. Colonel Commandant in his address exhorted the officers of the Judge Advocate General’s Department to rededicate themselves to JAG motto “Nyaya Evam Dharma” that is “Justice alone is the supreme duty”. Colonel Commandant also extended his good wishes to veterans who have brought the Department to the present place of pride.
