A newly acquired Jet Airways Boeing 777-300ER aircraft sits on the tarmac at Mumbai airport

New Delhi: A Jet Airways Riyadh–Mumbai flight departed the runway on Friday, August 3, following an aborted take-off at the Riyadh Airport. According to the Jet Airways, all the 142 passengers and 7 crew members who were aboard the B737-800 aircraft have been safely evacuated.

No passengers or crew members have been injured in the incident.

In another incident which took place yesterday, one of the engines of a Jazeera Airways aircraft caught fire after the plane landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in the early morning hours. At least 150 passengers were were aboard the aircraft but everyone was reportedly safe. No injuries had been reported.

As per sources, the Air Traffic Control and also some members of the ground staff noticed a minor fire soon after the plane landed and informed the pilot who shut down both the engines immediately.
