Nagpur: Jayant Diddi, an Indian Revenue Service Officer of 1988 batch, took over as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Nagpur. Diddi has come to Nagpur on promotion to the Apex Scale in the Department.
Prior to Nagpur charge, he was posted as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Bareilly. He did his BSc, then completed M Tech and also LLB and joined the Department as Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax in 1989. With his vast experience and expertise in taxation matters, he is well-equipped to lead the Department towards achieving its objectives. One of his top priorities is timely redressal of grievances faced by taxpayers, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
He is determined to take positive steps towards accomplishing the budget collection targets set for the department. Diddi firmly believes in enforcing the law on tax evaders and aims to foster an atmosphere of strict compliance. By cracking down on tax evasion, the Department can ensure a fair and transparent system that benefits both the taxpayers and the country.
Additionally, Diddi wishes to promote better coordination and a favourable environment between taxpayers and the department. He believes that improved collaboration and communication will lead to a more efficient and effective tax system. To this end, he will make himself available to taxpayers and their representatives at Aayakar Bhawan, Nagpur, from 1 pm to 2 pm on all working days. This dedicated time slot will allow taxpayers to discuss any matter related to income tax directly with the Principal CCIT and seek timely resolutions. He will be holding the additional charge of Principal DG (Training), NADT.
