Javed Akhtar, Shaina NC meet Fadnavis over different issues

Famed lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar and BJP spokesperson Shaina NC had met the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, separately in Vidhan Bhawan premises on Friday here. Both the dignitaries had their pertaining issues which they discussed with Fadnavis, in the backdrop of ongoing winter session of state assembly.

After the meeting, Javed Akhtar told Nagpur Today that he had visited the chief minister with a request to ease norms on organ donations. He said since the cause of organ donation is noble one and crucial to saving lives, the practice should be promoted among the larger masses. He informed that even he had donated his organ and feels good about that.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Shaina NC apprised Fadnavis of the rape survivor from Vile Parle in Mumbai who has been facing the apathy of a media house which carried her photograph and also published her name in one of its news items. Shaina demanded stern action against the media house along with speedy hearing of the case in the fast track court so that the accused could be brought to justice.

Shaina also raised another issue pertaining to a 50 year old woman admitted to Mumbai’s Jaslok Hospital following a kidney failure. As per the existing laws only those having blood relation can donate kidney to the receiver. As the concerned patient was unable to get any donor from her blood relative, Shaina has appealed to Fadnavis to relax norms so that the woman can receive the organ from outsider donor. Shaina reiterated that such an effort may save a life, to which Fadnavis has assured to consider the case.
