Japan to help development of Nagpur Metro

Nagpur: Government of Maharashtra and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for development of Nagpur Metro along with Mumbai and Pune Metro. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who is on a five-day tour to Japan.

Fadnavis met Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade & Industry Yoichi Miyazawa in Tokyo. After the meeting the Chief Minister said, “It was a great pleasure to meet Yoichi Miyazawa in Tokyo today. We are happy that Minister Yoichi Miyazawa agreed to fast track the process for Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) project. MoU signed between METI and Government of Maharashtra for Public-Private Cooperative Actions Towards further development of Maharashtra. JETRO will support investment activities in and around Supa Industrial Park and will also support promotion activities of the State. Both, the Maharashtra Government and METI also recognised further cooperation in the development of Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune Metro. Both recognised further cooperation in the development of Nagpur, Mumbai, and Pune Metro & to develop Smart City in Navi Mumbai SEZ.
