JAIN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL – ‘SPORTAGANZA 2012’

Sport, play and physical education occupy an important role in human development. To promote this, Jain International School has organized Shri Shantilal Badjate Inter-School Sports Tournament “SPORTAGANZA 2012” from 30th November – 3rd December, 2012 in the school premises.
1027 students from 21 schools in and around Nagpur are participating the tournament. The events scheduled are Basketball, Football, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Chess, Skating and Swimming.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Shantilal Badjate, President of Jain International School, Mrs.Anmol Badjatia, Principal, Jain International School and Mr.Ghanshyam Dhiman, Administrator, Jain International School.

The inaugural function commenced with the welcome speech by Mrs.Charu Gulati. The flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest, Shri Shantilal Badjate. He also declared the meet open.

All the participants of the tournament participated in a jumbled march past. The oath taking ceremony was conducted by Ms.Snehal Maniyar (X), an ace athlete and basketball player of Jain International School. The ceremony followed by Govinda dance.

In his speech, Shri Shantilal Badjate opined that sports play a pivotal role in the make up of child.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sandeep Harnal, Organising Secretary.  Mr.Ghanshyam Dhiman, Administrator & Mrs. Purnima Kapta, Event Co-ordinator worked hard for the success of the sports meet.

The results of the matches played are as under:

 

1.      Football- (Boys : U-17) :

a.    Tuli Public School beat Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar by 2-1.

b.    Centre Point School, Dhaba got walkover Montfort School.

2.      Basketball (Boys : U-17) :

a.       Jain International School beat Tuli Public School by 18-6

b.      Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar beat BVM, Ashti by 43-6

c.       Centre Point School, Dhaba beat Delhi Public School by 19-1

3.    Basketball (Girls : U-17) :

a.       Delhi Public School beat Centre Point School, Dhaba by 13-7

b.      Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar beat Delhi Public School by 16-4

c.       Jain International School beat BVM, Ashti by 20-0

4.    Table Tennis (Girls : U-17)

a.       Sandipani School,  Hazaripahad beat St. Xavier’s School, Hingna by 3-1

b.      BVM, Ashti beat Jain International School by 3-1

5.    Table Tennis (Boys : U-17)

a.       Sandipani School, Hazaripahad beat St. Xavier’s School, Wardhaman Nagar by 3-2

b.      BVM, Ashti beat Delhi Public School, Nagpur by 3-1

6.    Chess : U-14

a.       Khushi Jain, Sandipani School, Civil Lines lost to Mrudul Dehankar, Centre Point School, Dhaba by 0-1

b.      Sangeet Khule, BVM, Ashti beat Palash Gilukar, Centre Point Dhaba by 1-0

c.       Prachi Samkuwar, Delhi Public School lost to Saurabh Dodeja, BVM School, Ashti by 0-1.

d.      Aman Chopda, Jain International School beat Rasika Kangale, Sandipani School, Civil Lines by 1-0.

e.      Riya Verma, Centre Point School, Dhaba lost to Aneesh Panda, Sandipani School, Hazaripahad by 0-1.

f.        Bhagyashree Chandak, Jain International School lost to Safa Ahmad, Delhi Public School by 0-1.

g.      Saloni Patel, Jain International School beat Faraj Ejaar Haque, Sandipani School, Civil Lines by 1-0

h.      Gokul Siriah, Sandipani School, Civil Lines beat Shreyash Patil, Sandipani School, Hazaripahad by 1-0

i.        Shubham Singh, Jain International School beat Harshad Sarode, Tuli Public School by 1-0

j.        Jay Khopey, Delhi Public School beat Uday Walke, Tuli Public School by 1-0
