‘Jai Ho’ performance by NMC students captivates Republic Day audience

Nagpur: Patriotism found a vibrant and youthful expression at the main government Republic Day programme held at Kasturchand Park, as girl students from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) schools showcased discipline, grace and national pride through a synchronised march-past and a soul-stirring cultural performance.

On the occasion of India’s 77th Republic Day, the national flag was unfurled by Maharashtra Revenue Minister and Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, in the presence of several dignitaries, including MP Shyamkumar Barve, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari, Police Commissioner Dr Ravindra Singal, Inspector General of Police Sandeep Patil, MahaMetro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar, NMC Commissioner and Administrator Dr Abhijit Chaudhari, Nagpur Improvement Trust Chairman Sanjay Meena, District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Additional Commissioner Vasumana Pant, Zilla Parishad CEO Vinayak Mahamuni and Superintendent of Police Harssh Poddar, among others.

Under the guidance of NMC Commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhari, the Republic Day cultural programme was led by Additional Commissioner Vaishnavi B., with Education Officer Sadhana Sayam overseeing the preparations. As many as 110 girl students of PM Shri Sanjaynagar Hindi Secondary School captivated the audience with a powerful and emotionally charged dance performance set to the patriotic song ‘Jai Ho’, evoking thunderous applause.

Adding to the splendour of the celebrations, students from PM Shri Sanjaynagar Secondary School and Vivekanand Nagar Hindi Secondary School presented a disciplined march-past in pristine white uniforms, symbolising unity, confidence and the promise of a strong future generation. The precision and grace of the parade drew loud applause from the dignitaries and spectators alike.

In recognition of their outstanding performance, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule felicitated the students with mementoes, applauding their dedication and patriotic spirit. NMC Commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhari and Additional Commissioner Vasumana Pant also lauded the students for their exemplary participation, congratulating them for bringing pride to municipal schools.

Education Officer Sadhana Sayam, Deputy Education Officers Sanjay Dighore and Seema Khobragade, School Inspector Prashant Tembhurne and other officials were present on the occasion. The success of the programme was made possible through the committed efforts of school principal Geeta Dandekar, teachers Renu Tulsani and Sunita Ishwarkar, along with the choreography team, whose guidance helped the students deliver a memorable and inspiring performance.
