ITIs, Bosch ink pact to provide vocational training to students in State

Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday informed Legislative Assembly that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between State’s 25 Industrial Training Institutes (it is) and the German Company Bosch for providing job-oriented training to students. Under the agreement, a ‘BRIDGE’ (Bosch’s Response to India’s Development & Growth Through Employability Enhancement) training programme will be implemented in ITIs on Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) basis. Students who left their education midway will also benefit by this training programme, said Fadnavis.

Earlier, the ITIs and Bosch Company inked the agreement at Vidhan Bhavan Hall in the presence of the Chief Minister Fadnavis. Others who were present on the occasion include Industry Minister Subhash Desai, Minister of State for Urban Development Dr Ranjit Patil, CM’s Principal Secretary Pravin Pardeshi, Skill Development and Entrepreneurs Department’s Principal Secretary S S Sandhu, Bosch Company’s General Manager Mohan Patil and others.

“With this agreement, Bosch has agreed to take over 25 ITIs in State where it will not only train people, but also employ all those trained,” Fadnavis said.

During his visit to Germany, the Chief Minister Fadnavis had held talks with officials of Bosch in Hannover trade fair. The German Company had agreed to provide state of the art vocational training to students in 25 ITIs in State under ‘BRIDGE’. Today’s agreement was result of the same. Maharashtra Government had decided to quality of training in ITIs under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Students who deserted education midway too get benefited:
The high-profile job-oriented training programme will also be implemented for those students who left their education midway. A two-month training programme including communication skill, personality development, consumer service, self-discipline, interview skills, English speaking skills, computer knowledge etc will be implemented for such students in the age group of 18-25 who desire to start their own establishment.
