Nagpur: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Government of Maharashtra has transferred nine IPS officers of Superintendent of Police (SP) rank, bringing key changes across sensitive districts.
Among the appointments, 2017-batch IPS officer M Ramesh has been posted as the new Superintendent of Police of Gadchiroli, replacing Neelotpal, who has now been appointed as SP of Kolhapur.
Ramesh brings with him considerable experience in counterinsurgency operations, particularly in Naxal-affected regions, and is expected to play a crucial role in intensifying anti-Naxal efforts and strengthening security in the district.
In other key transfers, Pune DCP Rajkumar Shinde has been appointed as SP of Washim, while Maheshwar Reddy, who was serving as SP of Jalgaon, has been moved to the State CID.
Meanwhile, 2014-batch IPS officer Nikhil Pingale, who earlier served as DCP (Crime) in Pune, has taken charge as the new SP of Satara.
The reshuffle underscores the state government’s strategy of deploying experienced and field-tested officers in crucial districts, particularly those facing security challenges, with the aim of strengthening law enforcement and ensuring public safety.
