The device is now available in a sub-Rs.15,000 price tag in most outlets.
The 4GB variant of the phone is available on Amazon India for Rs.12,824 and on Flipkart for Rs.12,698. The price cut is the major reason behind the spike in sales. Despite the array of smartphones available in the market, customers are willingly opting for the iPhones. The phone has outlived the software updates but the Cupertino Giant was also planning to launch a lighter version of the iOS 9 to breath in life into the older hardware.
Apple’s brand value has created a tremendous loyalist consumer base, who opt for the near-obsolete despite mostly for the image attached to the device. Owning an iPhone has been a dream for some and the price cut has made it possible for the device to sell effortlessly.
The American company is planning to expand its reach in the Indian market by launching 500 stores exclusively dedicated to Apple merchandise. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have also done a more than decent job in the Indian subcontinent.
