International Yoga Day to be celebrated in city on June 21

Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal and Nagpur Municipal Corporation are jointly celebrating the International Yoga Day on June 21 in Nagpur. The celebration will be held at Yashwant Stadium, said Mayor Pravin Datke while presiding over a meeting in this context. Ram Khandwe of Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal had requested the Mayor to convene a meeting and chalk out the programme. Accordingly, the meeting was held at NMC’s Chhatrapati Maharaj Administrative Building in Civil Lines on Tuesday.

Other dignitaries who attended the meeting include Chairman of Standing Committee Ramesh Shingare, Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Deputy Ruling Party Leader Nita Thakre, Superintending Enginner Prakash Urade, NMC Secretary Harish Dubey, Secretary of Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal Ram Khandwe, members Atul Majumdar, Sanjay Ladkare, and others.

With the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations announced June 21 as International Yoga Day. The Prime Minister had also appealed to celebrate the Yoga Day in India to spread importance of Yoga among masses. Accordingly, the NMC and Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal jointly are celebrating the International Yoga Day on June 21. Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal, since the past 64 years, propagating Yoga free of cost. On June 21, 21,000 Yoga disciples will jointly demonstrate different ‘asanas’ from 6.30 am to 8.30 am at Yashwant Stadium to mark the International Yoga Day.
