Inter-state gang of vehicle-lifters busted by Nagpur Rural cops

Nagpur: The Nagpur Rural Police claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of vehicle lifters and arrested four of its members from neighbouring Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh (MP), besides recovering six stolen motorcycles worth Rs 2.35 lakh from their possession.

Cops also seized a Maruti Swift car (MP-28/ZD-7515) worth Rs six lakh which they had used for committing the crimes.

Identified as Mitesh alias Monti Shahu (19), Ajay alias Ajju Dhanpal Shahu (21), Ankit Zadu Nikose (22) and Pralhad alias Rahul Jileram Dehriya (19), the accused are the residents of Umreth, district Chhindwara, MP. Cops arrested another accused Ajay Bhagwat Dumre (32), a resident of Wali.

The gang had stolen a Hero Splendor (MH-40/CR-4086) worth Rs 40,000, a Hero Splendor (MH-40/AN-4589) worth Rs 20,000 and HF Deluxe motorbike (MH40/AH-7832) worth Rs 40,000 from Saoner area. From Mankapur Police Station area in Nagpur, they had stolen Hero Honda Splendor (MH-31/FT-0523) worth Rs 50,000.

From accused Ajay Dumre , cops recovered a Hero Splendor bike (MH40/BU-0983) worth Rs 50,000 which he had stolen from Khaperkheda area and a Honda Hornet bike (MH-40/BB-0233) worth Rs 25,000 stolen from Saoner.

The arrests of accused and recovery of stolen vehicles were made by PI Ravindra Mankar, API Anil Raut, PSI Vyankatesh Danode, ASI Ganesh Rai and others under the supervision of SP (Rural) Harssh Poddar and SDPO (Saoner) Anil Maske.
