
To set the stage for meaningful discussions on global challenges and innovative solutions, Delhi Public School, MIHAN, organised a grand Model United Nations, MIMUN 5.0, on the theme ‘Responsible Deliberation On Sustainable Pathways For a Sustainable Future’ to enhance problem-solving and critical thinking skills among future global citizens. The conference began with a vibrant and inspiring Opening Ceremony, marked by an atmosphere of global spirit and youthful diplomacy, on November 22, 2025, at its beautiful, sprawling campus, which focuses on sustainable practices.
Prof. Ankita Dash, a faculty member in the Economics and Social Sciences Area at IIM Nagpur, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour, Ms Tulika Kedia, President and Pro Vice-Chairperson of DPS MIHAN and Kamptee Road, Nagpur, and Director Ms Savita Jaiswal joined the ceremony online, offering their blessings and wishing the delegates a stimulating conference. The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and a powerful welcome address by the Principal, Ms Nidhi Yadav, wherein she urged the young delegates to find solutions to global issues through informed dialogue, responsible leadership, and a shared vision for a more peaceful world.
The Chief Guest, in her address, motivated the delegates with words that echoed the spirit of leadership and empowerment. She highlighted that with diplomacy as an art, involving oneself in brilliant deliberations and discussions on contemporary and local issues, one can work for the global good.
A total of 50 schools and colleges from all over the state are participating in MIMUN 5.0, with around 320 delegates representing them in the two-day conference and will debate and deliberate on the agendas of the committees of the UN, such as UNSC, UNHRC, UNGA, UNCSW, WHO and the highly popular LOK SABHA, FIFA, IPL, IP and fictitious committees like Galactic Council and Demon Slayer to empower them with skills of diplomacy and take decisions through consensus. The Deputy Secretary General, Mst. Pranav Raj addressed the gathering and declared the conference open for deliberations. The diligent Secretariat under Secretary General Ms Marvi Rathod is conducting the two-day event.
