Nagpur: Industrial security is not limited to protecting establishments; it is also a crucial pillar of the country’s economic and energy security, Nagpur Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangare Patil said. He urged every employee working in the security system to perform their duties with discipline, dedication, vigilance and a strong sense of responsibility.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the convocation ceremony held at 11 a.m. on Monday (August 31) at Western Coalfields Limited’s (WCL) Security Training Centre in Indora, Nagpur. Commissioner Nangare Patil inspected the passing-out parade of the officers and security personnel who had completed their training and accepted the ceremonial salute.
Officers from various WCL subsidiary companies and departmental security personnel effectively demonstrated the discipline, professional skills and commitment to duty they had acquired during their training. The police commissioner particularly praised the disciplined marching during the parade and the trainees’ professional preparedness.
“While working in the field of security, training alone is not enough; presence of mind, discipline and a sense of responsibility are extremely important,” Nangare Patil said, urging the trainees to perform their duties honestly. He also underlined the vital role played by security personnel in protecting industrial projects, energy generation and the country’s economic system.
Commending the trainees for their high standards of discipline and professional skills, the police commissioner wished them success in their future service. Trainee officers and personnel who had performed exceptionally during the training were honoured with awards and certificates of appreciation at the hands of Commissioner Vishwas Nangare Patil.

After the convocation ceremony, Commissioner Nangare Patil inspected the smart and modern weapons training and firing simulation facility established at the Security Training Centre in Indora. He obtained information about the training provided to security personnel using modern technology.
The need for modern technology, advanced training and continuous practice to meet the changing challenges of industrial security was emphasised on the occasion. The importance of the modern training facility in strengthening WCL’s security system was also highlighted.
The convocation ceremony at the WCL Security Training Centre concluded in an enthusiastic atmosphere marked by a disciplined parade, outstanding training and the felicitation of meritorious trainees.
