INDORE: People travelling between Indore and Gondia (Maharashtra) will soon have regular flight connectivity options. Two flights have been proposed to start operation on the route in November.

Airport officials said that Gondia airport has recently got licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for commercial flight operations, following which two private airlines have declared their plans to start flights.

“Private airlines, FlyBig and Star Air have announced plans to start flights on the route,” Indore airport officiating director Prabodh Sharma said.

Sharma said that FlyBig would operate a flight from Indore to Hyderabad via Gondia and permission for the same had also been granted to the airline. “The airline has already announced that it would resume its operations from October 1 with its Indore-Jabalpur flight. It is now planning to operate its second flight via Gondia,” he said.

“Star Air has also got permission to operate a flight between Indore and Gondia under the winter schedule”, he added.
