New Delhi/Nagpur: Union Home Ministry Rajnath Singh has announced the complete sealing of the India-Pakistan border by December 2018.

Rajnath Singh arrived in Jaisalmer today to meet with the chief ministers and home ministers of four states bordering Pakistan. The meeting was also attended by top BSF officials.

The Home Minister said he has full faith in the armed forces who guard our borders just like a farmer protects his farm. The HM said the CMs of border states gave suggestions on border security and said the state governments in turn must act on the BSF’s suggestions.

When asked to comment on Rahul Gandhi’s ‘dalali’ statement, Rajnath said the country must be united in challenging times. ” People working in any field must show restraint at time of escalated tensions,” Rajnath Singh added.

Kiren Rijiju (MoS Home) has been tasked with border security.

The meeting comes a day after four militants were gunned down by security forces who tried to infiltrate the border from PoK in the early hours of Thursday.

Having strengthened its defences along the LoC, the army managed to foil three infiltration bids — two in Naugam sector and one in Rampur — on Thursday.
