India-Myanmar-Thailand superhighway set to open in November

Fancy a road trip to Thailand? It is now possible after a section of the Indo-Thailand highway, Myawaddy-Thinggan Kawkareik, of the Asian Superhighway opens in November this year. The highway begins in Manipur.

According to the media reports, the first stretch of 26.5 km will cut down on the travel time to just an hour.

To enhance the regional co-operations with Myanmar and Thailand, Modi government has made the India-Myanmar-Thailand highway of 3200 km as a priority. The highway will further to Southeast Asia.

The current stretch runs from Moreh in India to Thailand’s Maesot via Tamu, Mandalay of Myanmar.
