Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, visits WCL
Nagpur News : While addressing the officers of Western Coalfields Limited on 20th July 2014 at company headquarters, Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy (Independent Charge) during the performance monitoring meeting of the company called upon them to increase coal production to fulfil the demand of the country.
Hon’ble Minister was apprised of the way forward for WCL. He desired that coal executives should work to change the erstwhile perception of the Coal PSUs among the stake holders by achieving the physical and financial targets with utmost thrust on integrity. Research & Development, Quality of coal, Mechanisation of mines, Opening of new projects will be the thrust areas. Ministry of Coal will help to sort out the issues to remove the road block of viability of new mines, environmental and forestry clearances.
