Incessant drizzle brings cheers to Vidarbha farmers, heavy rains warned in Nagpur

Incessant downpour has hit entire Vidarbha including Nagpur, signalling cheers among the farmers awaiting rains for their crops. It has been raining continuously since Thursday night in Nagpur and many surrounding areas. Many low lying areas in Nagpur witnessed water logging and vehicular traffic in many areas was hampered due to marooned streets. Roads were flooded with overflowing sewage and nullahs in many areas including Ramdaspeth, Padole Square, Manish Nagar and Trimurti Nagar.

There are reports of many colonies marooned as waters gushed into many houses of low lying areas. Few trees have also been uprooted due to heavy downpour. No casualty has been reported till now.

While the unabated showers thrilled the people in city who drove out to experience the drizzle, children too enjoyed rainy pools in many areas.
Nagpur Rains
Meteorological Department in Nagpur has warned of heavy rains for the coming two days. It rained throughout the day in Nagpur. Met office recorded 32.5 mm rains in city since Thursday night till 9.30 am on Friday.

While the data post this time would be posted later, Met Office predicted heavy rainfall from 64.5mm to 115.5mm, over Vidarbha from Friday to Sunday.
