Illegal vendors attack rly pantry car manager

Nagpur: Due to lack of security measures, a pantry car manager of a train was badly assaulted and injured by illegal vendors at Nagpur railway station on Sunday. The railway police rushed the seriously wounded manager to Mayo Hospital for treatment. The incident has raised a question mark on the security of passengers at railway station and trains.

According to information, train no- 12906 Howrah-Porbandhar Express was arriving at Nagpur from Gondia. However, when the train reached at Kamptee, some of the illegal vendors started taking food orders in the train. Meanwhile, the pantry manager of the train Kadli Warakumar a resident of Vijaywada, saw the illegal vendors in the train. He immediately called the assistant pantry car manager and both of them confronted the illegal vendors and stopped them from selling the food in the train. They also took a video footage of the illegal vendors on the mobile. Sensing trouble, the illegal vendors went away at the Kamptee station.

However, when the train reached at Nagpur railway station at 5.30 pm. Around 10 to 12 illegal vendors got into the train and started assaulting pantry car manager Kadli Warakumar and other staff of the pantry car. The hooligans also pulled the train alarm thrice and stopped the train. Warakumar also sustained injuries on his head during the scuffle.

However, the illegal vendors managed to run away from the spot, before the RPF and GRP personnel arrived at the spot.
