Passing out parade at NCC Officers Training Academy, Kamptee

Nagpur: 303 volunteer teachers and assistant professors of Schools & Colleges across India have been commissioned as Associated NCC officers in National Cadet Corps after an impressive Passing Out Parade, Wearing badges of ranks & Oath Ceremony on 08 Oct 2016 from prestigious NCC Officers Training Academy, Kamptee.

Maj Gen NS Rao Commandant, NCC Officers Training Academy, Kamptee, was the Reviewing Officer of the Passing Out Parade. Lt (Dr) Arularasan P. of Tamilnadu & Pondicherry Directorate and Officer Cadet Trilok Chand Thakur of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh Directorate won the Director General’s Baton for standing First in order of merit amongst the Senior Division and Junior Division respectively. The Director General’s Banner for Inter Company Championship was won by Shivaji Company. The Parade was commanded by Lt (Dr) Arularasan P.

The deserving academicians, trained as perspective Associated NCC Officers, displayed their marching Skills, to the tune of “ Sare Jahan se Achha Hindostan Hamara ”, rendered by the Band of the Guards Regimental Centre in the historic ‘Chunni Lal Parade Ground’. The ceremony was witnessed by a number of Service and Civil dignitaries, distinguished guests, relatives of Officer Cadets, school children and NCC Cadets.

Addressing the Cadets, Reviewing Officer congratulated the officer cadets for successfully completing the tough training. He reminded them of their primary responsibility to achieve aims and objectives of NCC. He exhorted them to prepare NCC cadets to take their rightful place as leaders and patriotic citizens in all walks of life including the Armed Forces.

The Officer Cadets had gone through a rigorous training programme of three months duration, including Specialised Military subjects and Personality Development Capsule. Various Seminars, Lectures and programmes were conducted during their training period viz Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, International Yoga Day, Skill India, Digital India, Organ Donation, Life Skills, Disaster Management, Law Capsule & Van Mahotsav. Associate NCC Officers are important members of NCC entrusted with the responsibility to create awareness and development of nationalism amongst the NCC cadets towards maturing into conscientious citizens.
