Nagpur: Keeping a side the sanctioned plan of Nagpur Municipal Coproration’s Planning Department, permission has been granted by the concerned department of administartion to open a roof top restaurant named ‘Terrace wheel’ on the terrace of building at Zenda Chowk, Dharmpeth. The restaurant was started a few days back. The owner of this land in a letter to the Municipal Commissioner has asked to cancel the licence of this restaurant. The Municipal Corporation has failed to take cognisance of this.

Narhari Parmanand Joshi the owner of the land where this building has come up had written the letter last week to Municipal Commissioner Ashwin Mudgal and informed him that he is a joint owner of this Gokul Roshan building which is situated at Zenda Chowk. The joint owners of the land had made an agreement with Pankaj Construction for constructing a building. The owner of Pankaj Construction company Panakj Dhawan got the plan sanctioned. After this the construction company carried out construction work against the sanctioned plan. A complaint regarding this was made to NMC Town Planning Department and Dharmpeth Zone. In the meantime The construction company to get the constructed part authorised gave a new map for sanctioning. A revised map along with application was submitted to town planning Department.

Joshi informed the Municipal Commissioner that the Town Planning Department had rejected this plan in year 2015. Despite this Dhawan did not demolish the illegal structure instead opened a roof top restaurant in the month of Febraury. On the Valentine Day a party was organised and till late night the clamour of youths was heard. Before starting the restaurant Dhawan had not taken permission from the land owners. Joshi demanded legal action against the illegal restaurant.

It may be mentioned that the police Department has instructed the NMC administration to take action against those running roof top restaurants with city illegally. Now it remains to be seen what action NMC takes in such cases.
