Nagpur News: Ajni police have booked three persons for abetting suicide by a woman in Jaiwant Nagar of Nagpur. According to police sources, one Bhaskar Bhaudas Patle (32), a resident of Plot No. 39, Jaiwant Nagar under  Ajni Police Station jurisdiction had married one Mamata Dhanaji Deshmukh, a resident of Mohgaon Mine, Tumsar. Soon after the marriage, her husband, and in-laws started harassing Mamata mentally and physically for dowry. Severely depressed by frequent harassment, Mamta decided to take extreme step and hanged herself to ceiling hook of kitchen with the help of  cable wire and “dupatta” (a piece of cloth) on April 27.

However, the Ajni police, earlier, had registered a case of accidental death. But after thorough investigation into the matter, the police came to know that her husband Bhaskar Bhaudas Patle, Sharda Savant Patle (32) and Dhanvanta Bhaudas Patle (49) were harassing Mamata and asking her to bring Rs 2 lakh from her parents’ home. Frustrated with frequent harassment took the ultimate step and committed suicide by hanging herself to kithen ceiling hook on April 27. The Ajni police, on the complaint lodged by her father Dhanaji Madhorao Deshmukh, have booked the trio accused under Sections 498A, 304B, 306 and 34 of IPC and are investigating further.
