Nagpur: In a curious incident, a 48-year old man has been booked on the charges of abetting his 40-year old wife’s suicide for dowry. The deceased Shruti Sanjay Rangari (40), resident of Buddha Nagari, behind Naglok, Yashodhara Nagar, had on March 10, 2016 committed suicide by hanging to ceiling hook with the help of an odhni. At that time, Yashodhara Nagar police had registered a case of accidental death and probing the matter further.
The investigation revealed that Shruti’s husband Sanjay Baburao Rangari (48) was torturing hermentally and physically for not bringing dowry. Fed up with the frequent harassment, Shruti decided to end her life.
Based on the revelation and a complaint lodged by Mahendra Kisan Nandagavli (64), Yashodhara Nagar API Magdun has booked the accused husband Sanjay Rangari under Section 306 of IPC.
