Housemaid ‘cleans’ locker, decamps with gold booty worth Rs 1.93 lakh in Ambazari

Nagpur: A housemaid slyly “cleaned” the locker of her woman employer and decamped with a booty of gold ornaments worth Rs 1.93 lakh. Surprisingly, the theft took place between 2010 and March 3, 2018 but a complaint was lodged on Tuesday, May 15. The accused burglar is now being searched intensely by cops.

A resident of 402, Neeltarang Apartment, Plot No. 9, Amravati Road, Shobha Prakash Dhanwate (56) in her compliant told police that she had kept her gold ornaments in the locker of a steel almirah in bedroom. The accused maid servant named Sonu Pyarelal Parteki (32), resident of Telangkhedi, near LIT College, slyly removed the gold ornaments worth Rs 1.93 lakh sometime between year 2010 and March 3, 2018. Since then the accused went absconding.

The theft came to notice of Shobha Dhanwate when she checked the locker recently.

Ambazari PSI R Meshram has registered an offence under Section 381 of the IPC and searching for the accused maid servant Sonu Parteki.
