    House break at Ulhas Nagar; Thieves decamp with cash, valuables worth Rs 6.80 lakh

    Phate family were in for a shock when they returned from a function only to discover that unknown thieves had looted Rs 5 lakh cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.80 lakh from their residence. The theft took place under Ajni police station between 1.30 pm and 3 pm on Sunday, police sources informed.

    Ulhas Nagar, Manewada Road resident Mahesh Damodarrao Phate (40) had gone to attend an engagement ceremony with his family on Sunday. Meanwhile, unknown thieves barged into the house by breaking open the lock and decamped with Rs 5 lakh cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.80 lakh. When Phate family returned home, they were shocked to find the lock broken. As they rushed inside, they realized about the burglary. Mahesh immediately informed Ajni police about the incident.

    Cops reached the scene and started their investigations. Cops registred the crime under section 454 and 380 of the IPC.
