Nagpur News : A pre-marriage ceremony was destroyed completely when hooligans barged into the pandal and broke the table, chairs, with sticks on Sunday under the jurisdiction of Nandanvan police station.
The complainant, Dadarao Fattuji Atkari (52) is a resident of Aaradhana Nagar, near Siddheshwar Colony, behind Satpuda Beer Bar. The marriage of Dadarao’s daughter was fixed in a few days. However, on Sunday at around 8.30 pm the accused Saiyyad Aslam Saiyyad Shouqat (25), Farookh Sheikh Kareem Sheikh (25), Saiyyad Shouqat Saiyyad Mohammad (50), Nirbhay Suresh Singh Thakur (20), along with their mates barged into the pandal when Dadarao was discussing the marriage preparations with his nephew. The accused started shouting and issuing profanities against Dadarao and started breaking the Hero Honda Shine (MH 31 DE 4936) parked in the pandal and later broke the chairs and tables. They also destroyed the food arrangements. They caused Rs 14,000 loss to the family members.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by Dadarao, Nandanvan police registered an offence under Sections 141, 143, 147, 148, 149, 323, 427 and 504 of the IPC against the accused. Further investigations are under way.
