Nagpur: A purported threat to carry out bomb blast on any Mumbai-bound train within 24 hours sent Railway police into tizzy on Saturday night. The information was received by Ajni-based Headquarters of Railway Police. Acting on the inputs, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) of Railway Police swung into action in the midnight of Saturday and frisked all Mumbai-bound trains. However, no bomb-like material was found on any train.

Around 21-50 pm on Saturday, Ajni Headquarters of RPF received information from Bhusawal Control Room regarding bomb threat. The Bhusawal RPF was alerted by Gorakhpur Control Room. Acting swiftly on the inputs, the BDDS started checking all trains from 12 in the night. The trains checked include Hatia-Pune, Geetanjali, Shalimar, Howrah-Mumbai Mail, Gondia-Mumbai Vidarbha Express, Samrasta Express, and Nagpur-Mumbai Doronto. General, slipper and AC coaches of these trains were thoroughly checked but no bomb-like objects were found. The information turned out to be a hoax.
