Nagpur: A history sheeter was done to death by armed goons at his house in Dipti Signal area on Friday night. Identified as Santosh Shankar Vishwakarma (24), the deceased was a resident of Bazaar square under the jurisdiction of Kalamna police station.
Police said that the murder was the result of an heated argument that took place on Thursday between Santosh and one of the accused Satish Shahu. There was a birthday party at the house of Mishra in the locality on Thursday night where the deceased Santosh and the accused Satish were present. There ensued a heated argument over some issue between the two. Santosh, it seems, had threatened Satish with dire consequences.
On Friday night, Satish, along with his brother Sachin Shahu, Rajendra, Shubham and others barged in to the house of Santosh at about 12.30 pm. Santosh was sleeping with his wife and children at that time. The intruders launched a murderous assault on Santosh leaving him dead in a pool of blood. The attackers also threatened Santosh’s wife after which they fled the scene.
On getting the news, a team of police from Kalamna police station led by police inspector Sunil Bonde and PSI Yulnath Rathod reached the spot.The cops soon swung into action and arrested the five accused on Friday night itself.
