High-tech currency notes of 500, 1000 to be in circulation soon

Delhi/ Nagpur: The rising incidents of fake currency in the country have compelled the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to launch a high-tech currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations. The RBI has issued a notification in this regard that the said currency notes will be brought out with the foolproof high tech system, and even the blind people will also be able to sense them out.
It may be mentioned that there had been series of complaints regarding circulation of fake currency notes of 500 and 1000 denominations. Taking cognizance of it the RBI had announced its policy of change, and according suitable steps were taken in this direction and finally the RBI on Sept 22 issued another notification, which says that the new currency notes would soon be brought out in circulation among public. According to RBI, even the blind persons will also be able sense them by touching.

2 new  features:
The RBI has introduced two new features to the currency, though they have not been revealed as yet. RBI officials have confirmed that the new currency of 500 and 1000 denominations in shaped with high tech system, so that its duplication may be impossible. They further said that the Rs 500 notes printed before year 2005 will be in circulation till December this year, and thereafter they will be discontinued from circulation, w.e.f. Dec 31, 2015.

According to sources however, apart from ascending numerical patterns for the visually impaired there are angular bleed lines on both right and left side of the note on the front side. While Rs 100 will have four bleed lines, Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will feature five and six bleed lines respectively. Also another identification mark used is a triangle sign for Rupees 100 while a circle and diamond sign on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes respectively.
