Heady Holi brawl leads to murderous attack on youth in Nandanvan

Nagpur: A heady duel between two drunkards led to murderous attack on one of them in Nandanvan area here on Holi day. The accused attacker has been arrested.

The complainant Sanjay Jagtuli Ghosewan (40) of Plot No. 91, New Sahakar Nagar, told police that his nephew Pravin alias Bholanath Bihare (23) was enjoying liquor with the accused Pranay alias Domiya (21) at latter’s residence in Sababa Nagar to celebrate Holi around 1 pm on Thursday. After a peg or two went down the belly, a brawl erupted between the two drunkards Pravin and Pranay over an issue. Both hurled choicest abuses against each other during the fracas. However, the wordy duel soon turned bloddy when accused Pranay whipped out a knife and stabbed Pravin on his chest repeatedly with the motive of killing him. The profusely bleeding Pravin was rushed to a nearby hospital by nearby people.

Based on the complaint, Nandanvan PSI Gajbhare booked the accused Pranay under Section 307 of IPC and succeeded in arresting him.
