Head Constable dies of COVID-19

Nagpur: A 34-year old Head Constable, Naveen Kumar Jha, from Pachpaoli police station of Nagpur Police Commissionerate died of COVID19 on Sunday.

A police official said that Jha was infected by the virus a few days ago. He was admitted to Hope Hospital where he breathed his last on Sunday. It may be mentioned that a total of 252 police personnel were infected by novel coronavirus in the second wave.

Of them, 232 are active COVID-19 patients. A total of 18 police personnel died due to COVID-19 from March 2020.

On Sunday, two policemen of Kalmana police station, one each from MIDC, Koradi, Police Headquarters, Yashodhara Nagar, Wadi and Police Control Room were found infected with the virus.
