Nagpur: Has IndiGo begun scaling back its operations from Nagpur? According to sources, the airline has quietly discontinued multiple flights on key routes, including Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, raising concerns over shrinking air connectivity from the city.

Sources say one daily flight on the Nagpur-Kolkata sector has been suspended from the start of January 2026. Similarly, one flight each on the Nagpur–Bengaluru and Nagpur-Hyderabad routes has also been withdrawn. All affected services belong to IndiGo Airlines. The carrier has not issued any official statement regarding these reductions.

As per sources familiar with the matter, IndiGo has been facing operational challenges since December last year, including aircraft availability, crew scheduling issues, and internal cost-control measures. In response, the airline is reportedly trimming capacity on routes where passenger demand has been relatively lower.

The impacted flights include Nagpur-Kolkata–Nagpur (6E 6407 / 6E 6415), which have remained suspended since early January 2026. Nagpur–Bengaluru–Nagpur services (6E 6802 / 6E 6803) were discontinued from January 25, 2026. Earlier, the Nagpur-Hyderabad–Nagpur flights (6E 6519 / 6E 6518) had already been withdrawn in October 2025.

Sources also indicate that Nagpur is not alone in facing these cuts, with several IndiGo routes across other Indian cities reportedly affected as part of a wider operational reshuffle.

The continuous reduction in flights is beginning to impact Nagpur Airport’s connectivity. Passengers are now forced to depend on limited alternatives, often resulting in longer travel times and increased airfares. While Bengaluru still retains multiple daily connections, Kolkata and Hyderabad are now left with only one flight option each from Nagpur.

For a fast-growing city like Nagpur, the loss of direct air links is emerging as a serious concern for both travelers and the business community. Whether IndiGo or other airlines will introduce replacement services to offset the cuts remains uncertain.
