Nagpur: A 67-year old man attacked his sleeping son with an axe and inflicted deep injuries on his head and face with the intention of killing him. The accused aged man was reportedly fed up with the frequent harassment at the hands of his son and tried to end his ordeal in a ghastly manner.
According to police, the complainant Geeta Raju Modekar (33), resident of Kasabpura, Teen Nal Chowk, Tehsil area, told cops that her husband Raju Tanbaji Modekar (38) was sleeping in house around 5 pm on Sunday. At the same time, the accused Tanbaji Narayan Modekar (67), reportedly distraught over frequent torture at the hands of Raju, attacked him with an axe causing grievous injuries on his head and face. The intention of the accused Tanbaji was to eliminate his tormenting son. The profusely bleeding Raju was taken to a hospital where he is being treated for head and face injuries.
Tehsil API Y G Mulani, on the basis on Geeta’s complaint, has booked the accused Tanbaji Modekar under Section 307 of the IPC. No arrest has been made so far.
