Growing menace of stray dogs at Secretariat building

Nagpur: The new Secretariat building, which houses over 20 Central government offices along with banks and insurance company offices, at Civil Lines in Nagpur has also become a home of stray dogs since last couple of years. The number of stray dogs here is also increasing day by day as dog-lovers in the premises keep feeding them.

These stray dogs can be seen moving around the offices and in corridors in this three-floor building throughout the day. They get more freedom during the nights and holidays, after which it become very difficult to pass through these corridors due to the filth and its odor. Employees and visitors are usually seen covering their faces while passing moving in the premises.

The negligence of the administration toward this menace is likely to cost dear due to the increasing threat of health hazard and dog bite.
