Govt committed to protect consumer-interest: Arun Deshpande

Nagpur: The State Government is committed to keep the consumers movement going on and also protect their interests, said State Consumers Welfare Committee chairman, Arun Deshpande while presiding over the meeting of consumer forum held at the collectorate here the other day.

Present on this occasion were Assistant Commissioner of Food & Drug Administration, Assistant Controller Rajendra Gaikwad, Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat Vidarbha Prant president Gajanan Pande, Prant publicity chief Ganesh Shirole, public relations chief Vinod Deshmukh, treasurer Bhattarwar and secretary Uday Dive.

Deshpande further said, this government is consumer-interest oriented, and it is mandatory to hang a board mentioning ‘adulterer’ on the shop of adulterer. Similarly, the government is going to take strict measures against milk-adulteration, he added. He stressed the need to popularize among masses consumer awareness, and so, in all schools and colleges the varieties of consumer-awareness programme will be organized on coming December 24 and March 15.
