Nagpur: Jaripatka police have arrested a goon for threatening and demanding ‘haptha’ (extortion money) from the owner of Atish Wine Bar on Wednesday.
In his complaint, Rajesh Manikchandra Bawari (45), resident of Shobha Khet, Barse Nagar, told police that he runs Atish Wine Bar at Triratna Nagar, Nara Road, Jaripatka. On Wednesday, around 5 pm, the accused Vicky Ramesh Katare (25), resident of Kushi Nagar, came to the bar and enjoyed liquor. Later he went to the counter and refused to pay the bill. The accused demanded Rs 2000 as ‘haptha’ regularly and threatened to kill the bar owner with a sword and left the bar.

Jaripatka PSI Kankad, based on the complaint of Rajesh Bawari, booked the accused Vicky Katare under Sections 384, 294, 506(B) of the IPC and put him behind the bars. Further probe is underway.
