Nagpur:
The breathtaking view of vibrant red, orange Sunrise greeted Nagpurians on the dawn of New Year – 2017. The sky shone a radiant bright orange and pink with the dazzling Sunrise indicating the new day of New Year. With statue of great Vivekananda in forefront at Ambazari Overflow Point the scenario turned picturesque, dazzling and pleasant.

Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached. Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life — think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success. — Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekananda had launched a revolution that still resonates around the world today. He has been an inspiration for youth around the world for over a century.

The iconic spot in Second Capital City of Nagpur — Ambazari Lake’s overflow point, origin of Nag River – went abuzz on Sunday as a gigantic crane lifted the monumental statue of Swami Vivekanand and placed it on a pedestal to be formally unveiled later in a ceremonial function.

Notably, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has undertaken the construction of Swami Vivekananda Memorial project at the site adding another attraction of beauty and greenery to the spot. The civil works, including construction of an island shape platform, are almost complete.

As the year 2016 came to an end, Nagpurians welcomed 2017 with hopes that it will be a better and happier one. People throughout the world usually celebrated this day with loved ones and often in large gatherings. Be it a New Year’s eve party or a picnic on the first day of the year, people have their own way welcoming the new year. New Year means a fresh start, forgetting the bad memories, moving ahead and starting things on a positive note. One must consider the New Year as a new page in the book of life. A blank page to be filled with events that make it worthwhile. Learning from past mistakes committed in the previous years. Set new goals and fulfill the dreams and desires.

Nagpurians turned theSecond Capital a party zone on New Year eve. As the last night of the year edged closer, the city bustled with energy, frenzied party folk and fun. For some, it was an open-air celebration and others ushered in the year at nightspots and restaurants.

Nagpur Today wishes Nagpurians a Happy, Prosperous New Year!!!
