Gold ornaments and goods worth Rs 15,400 stolen from dickey

Nagpur: Unscrupulous elements do not spare even devotees in religious places. A lady victim who had gone to a temple in Gittikhadan area had kept some gold ornaments in the dickey of her two-wheeler and had gone inside the temple to perform Pujas returned to find the gold ornaments and other goods in all worth Rs 15,400/- missing on March 6, 2016.

The victim identified as Namrata Gyaneshwar Punekar aged 30 years and a resident of Vijayanand Society had gone along with her friend to a religious place in Seminary Hills for performing Pujas. She had parked her two-wheeler bearing RTO Registration No MH-31/ DE 1891 in the parking lot.

Some unidentified thiefs had broke opened her dickey and stole the Gold Chain, Locket and cash worth Rs 5400/- in all worth Rs 15, 400/-.

After the puja when the victim returned to go home, she found the dickey of her two-wheeler open and goods worth Rs 15, 400/- including gold ornament stolen.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim in Gittikhadan Police Station, the cops have registered a case under section 379 of Indian Penal Code and are investigating further.
