Nagpur: A sharp decline has been recorded in the prices of precious metals in Nagpur over the past 24 hours. The price of 24-carat gold has dropped by ₹7,400 per 10 grams, now standing at ₹1,22,100. Similarly, silver has fallen by ₹10,500 per kilogram, bringing its price down to ₹1,58,000.
The bullion market in the city witnessed major fluctuations post-Diwali. As the festive excitement subsided, both gold and silver prices saw record-breaking declines, creating a lucrative opportunity for buyers.
According to market sources, the price of pure 24-carat gold, which was ₹1,29,500 per 10 grams just a day ago, has now dropped to ₹1,22,100. Silver prices also took a significant hit, slipping from ₹1,68,800 to ₹1,58,000 per kilogram.
Experts attribute this steep fall to pressure in the global market and profit booking. Notably, in the past month, both gold and silver had witnessed a strong rally — silver crossing ₹1.84 lakh per kg and gold touching ₹1.31 lakh per 10 grams.
This post-Diwali correction, however, has come as good news for investors and buyers who missed out on purchases during the festive price surge.
