Glowings tributes paid to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Samvidhan Square, Deekshabhoomi

Nagpur: Hundreds of people gathered at the Samvidhan Square to pay their glowing tributes to Architect of Indian Constitution Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 61st Mahaparinirvan Din. The leaders of from various parties and organisations visited the Samvidhan square and garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar.

Thousands of followers of Dr Ambedkar from every nook and corner of the city donning white clothes visited the Samvidhan square and Deekshabhoomi to pay their homage. They attended the various programmes and speeches organised on the occasion.


It may be mentioned that on 6 December the death anniversary of Dr Ambedkar is observed as Mahaparinirvan Din. On Mahaparinirvan Din Lakhs of followers from all over India gather at Chaityana Bhoomi at Dadar in Mumbai and pay rich tributes to him. Chaitya Bhoomi is a memorial of Dr Ambedkar. Earlier known as Dadar Chowpatty, it began to be known as Chaitya Bhoomi after Ambedkar was cremated there after his death on 6 December 1956. Chaitya Bhoomi is a revered place of pilgrimage for Buddhists in India.
