The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) is inviting engineering graduates in specified fields aspiring to join its team of world class professionals through GATE 2014. HPCL is a leading oil refining andmarketing company in India. The company is well known for its performance oriented culture and policies.
Graduate engineers from specific engineering disciplines who are interested in taking up a career with Hindustan Petroleum are required to appear for GATE 2014. Candidates from the following disciplines can apply for the job:
Electrical & telecommunication
Candidates having any other combination degree e.g. Automobile engineering, Power engineering etc. other than mentioned above is not eligible to apply.
Candidates should have passed qualifying degree in full time B.E or B.Tech from UGC recognized University with minimum 60% aggregate marks and relaxation up to 50% for SC/ST/PWD category. Those currently in final year of their engineering studies may also apply. The maximum age limit for the general category candidates is 25 years as on 30th June, 2014. Age relaxation for reserved category will be applicable as per the government norms.
Those seeking employment with HPCL need to be medically fit as per the company’s medical standards.
Candidates who want to be recruited in HPCL will be required to appear for GATE 2014. You need to purchase the GATE application form, fill in and submit the application as per the instruction given in GATE 2014 website. Such registered candidates will receive their GATE registration number, which will be used while applying for the job for engineers in Hindustan Petroleum.

You will be required to follow the instructions while filling out theapplication form. Applicants are required to pay processing fee of Rs. 235 for submitting their application. S/ST and PWD are exempted from payment of this fee. You can make the payment through Challan or online payment through debit/credit card.
Based on the GATE-2014 scores, candidates will be shortlisted according to their engineering discipline and further selection will be made on the basis of the performance in the group discussion/ group task and/or personal interview.
Selected candidates will undergo training for the first six months of joining the company. During this period, trainees will receive a consolidated stipend of Rs. 33,000 per month. Upon confirmation, the annual salary would be approximately Rs. 9.4 lakhs per annum and certain work related allowances.
