Nagpur: Jaripatka police have rounded up a 35-year-old man for allegedly raping a woman by threatening her with dire consequences between Oct 1 and 25, this year.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Farooq Sheikh Hamid Sheikh (35) resident of Agresan Square, Gandhibagh.
It is learnt that, the 28-year-old survivor came in contact with accused Farooq after he sold a property to complainant’s spouse few months back. Subsequently, the duo shared numbers and started texting.
Between Oct 1 and 25, the accused called her to meet him near Teka Naka and took her to a Ramtek based lodge and raped her. The accused also threatened to kill her son if she reveals anything to anyone.
However the complainant somehow narrated her nightmare to her spouse, and the couple approached Jaripatka police station.
Followed by the compliant of the victim, Jaripatka police has registered an offence under section 376(2), (N), 506(B) and sub-section 3(1). (F)(1). Further details are awaited.
