Gambling den busted at travel agent’s house in Ajni

Nagpur: Even as there was a sudden spurt in gambling activities in view of Diwali, the dens flourishing in the city made the kill. In a significant action Ajni Police cracked down upon a gambling den being run in the house of a travel agent at Taj Nagar on Thursday. The cops nabbed five persons gambling on playing cards. Cops seized Rs 1,10,200 cash, 10 cell phones worth Rs 66,600 and two-wheelers worth Rs 27,000 from their posession.

The accused have been identified as Azhar Dadda Shaikh (33), a resident of Plot No 239/3, Somwari Quarter, Abdul Kaleem Abdul Hafeez Shaikh(37),Quarter No 219/3, Somwari Quarter, Sakkardara ,Subhash Nandanwar (34), a resident of Lane No 2, Savitribai Fule Nagar, Tajkhan Iqba lKhan Pathan(37)and Amjad Khan Ahmed Khan Pathan (39), both residents of Taj Nagar, Ajni.

Acting on atip off,Senior Inspector Shailesh Sankhe, PSI Kailash Magar and constabulary staff, under the supervision of DCP (Zone IV) Nilesh Bharne and ACP Ravindra Kapgate,raidedTaj khan Iqbal Khan Pathan and arrested the accused persons. Taj khan Pathan is a travel agent Cops registered an offence under relevant sections of Gambling Act against the accused persons.
