From Rubeka’s Kitchen : Tomato Chutney

Tangy, hot and spicy tomato chutney in South Indian style. Perk up your Idli, wada, dosa, uttapam etc. with this chutney and have fun.

Ingredients:
4 onions [chopped]
10 tomatoes
3-4 green chilies
2 red chilies
Salt to taste
10 gms seedless tamarind
10 curry leaves
2 tbsp coriander leaves
2 tbsp mint leaves
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp urad dal
1 pinch hing

Method:

Heat oil in a pan add onion and fry till golden brown.
Add chilies and tomatoes and cook well.
Add salt and water cook till the tomatoes becomes soft and pulpy.
Add mint leaves and mix well, let it cool and grind it in the blender add tamarind and little water if needed. Blend till smooth consistency.
Take oil in a tadka pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal and hing, curry leaves and pour it into the tomato paste and add coriander leaves.
Serve with idli, dosa wada etc.
