Family members and relatives sit with coffins of two deceased siblings in front of police station
Nagpur: The sensational abduction and killing of two siblings by their own maternal uncle sparked outrage across Jaripatka and also put the cops in a tight spot. The family members of the two deceased siblings squarely blamed the police for the horrific incident, which, according to them, could have been avoided had the cops acted swiftly on the missing complaint.
Meanwhile, Jaripatka locality went tense as thousands of people including relatives of the two dead siblings virtually laid a siege of the Jaripatka Police Station and demanded immediate arrest the abductor and murderer. The situation turned volcanic as the coffins of the two siblings were brought to the police station to exert pressure on cops to at least act swiftly now and arrest the culprit. The situation forced top cops to deploy additional police force to quell the mob. Apprehending some untoward incident, the Jaripatka Police personnel called the personnel of the Quick Response Team (QRT), SRPF and Panchpaoli Police Station. The entire DB squad of both Panchpaoli Police Station and Jaripatka Police Station were ordered by senior police officials to intensify the investigations and to arrest the culprit at the earliest.
The family members, friends and relatives carrying the coffins and arriving in front of Jaripatka Police Station had practically blocked the vehicular movement of Ring Road. Nearly 500 women relatives of the deceased siblings sat on a dharna in front of Jaripatka Police Station, the situation started becoming tense.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Latkar and other senior police officials attempted in vain to pacify the women and men who sat with the coffins on dharna in front of the police station. The Police Officials requested and pleaded with the parents, relatives and friends of the deceased siblings to kindly perform the last rites, while they will intensify the investigations and assured to nab the culprit (own maternal uncle of the deceased siblings) at the earliest.
However, their request fell on deaf ears. The kith and kin of the deceased refused to carry out the burial till the culprit is apprehended.
