Nagpur News: Four persons, including husband, were arrested by Nandanvan police for torturing and setting a 21-year old woman ablaze over domestic matters.
According to police, the accused Pradeep Govindrao Babule (28), Ramdas Govindrao Babule (36), Bhagwan Govindrao Babule (31), Savita Ramdas Babule, Rinki Bhagwan Babule, all residents of Nandanvan Slums, Nagpur and Vidya Araikar, resident of Azamshah Square, Nagpur tortured Mamata Pradeep Babule, physically and mentally over domestic matters.
The accused Pradeep Babule, husband of Mamata, not satisfied with the torture, poured kerosene oil on Mamata and set her ablaze with the intentions to kill her at about 1600 hours of 11.11.2013.
The Nandanvan Police Station PSI Wakole, acting on the statement given by Mamata, who has been hospitalized, booked all the accused under Sections 307, 498(A), 34 of the IPC and arrested four of them namely Pradeep Babule, the husband of Mamata, Ramdas Govindrao Babule, Bhagwan Govindrao Babule and Vidya Araikar. Police are investigating the matter from all angles including dowry demand.
