Four people killed a 24-year-old youth and assaulted his mother over an argument over a trivial issue. The incident took place in Ittabhatti area under the jurisdiction of Kalamna police station on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Tirath Giri, a resident of Kavtha, Suradevi while his mother Kusumtai is at critical condition at Government Medical College and Hospital.
Kalamna police has arrested all four accused, Khirchand Vishwakarma, 60 and his sons Chotu, 19, Bhura 22, Kariya, 24, all residents of Kavtha, Suradevi.
According to the police, Giri had gone together with accused in bazar area at Pili Nadi when he had an argument with Vishwakarma over a trivial issue. The fight continued even when all five returned home at Kavtha. In a fit of rage, Bhura assaulted Giri with axe and rods. Giri’s mother Kusumtai rushed to save her son and was also assaulted.
Both injured were rushed to hospital. Giri was declared brought dead while Kusumtai is undergoing treatment at GMCH. Police has registered a murder offence.
